The beautiful Jute silk fabric with a gold tissue border was not the one we find easily. We were lucky to have a small yardage of this. An unusual Kalamkari in powder blue and light pink with olive green leaves was used to appliqué finely onto the back. We kept the sleeve and neck simple with just a few mirrors to add that glint to the overall look. GOLD AND IVORY for a subtle evening.

The looms of Chettinad and Kanchi comprise a very important part of the traditional weaves of Tamil Nadu. The magenta fabric is from our collection of Chettinad cotton yardage. The deep and intense shade of magenta does not need too many contrasts to make it stand out. The monotone colors from the same pink family were used to create tone on tone embroidery on an unusual paisely motif on the sleeves. Mirrors in three different sizes lined vertically along the sleeve . A slightly wide "U" neck also embroidered with mirrors using monotone threads though slightly bigger from the usual one. Since our mood for today is monotone the saree that pairs with the blouse is a deep pink "Airam Butta" from kanchi. Magenta and Deep Pink makes our model glow like a 1000 watt bulb. A head Turner for sure. Hope in our hearts for our artisans working through quarantine and still giving it their best shot.

A rich and gorgeous weave from our very own Kanjivaram. The traditional and evergreen korvai is the most apt way to start our Festival collection. Dark green, turmeric yellow and orange are the colors for the day. It’s a thickly woven pure Kanjivaram with a korvai border. A piece of black silk added on the sleeve with fine work in a single thread in shell white. Three motifs inspired from the saree borders embroidered intricately and tiny gold dots all over the back in gold finishes the classy blouse. FESTIVALS WITH KORVAI our heartbeat forever.

Checks and colourful ones that too in pure handwoven yardage is a part and parcel of most festivities down south. It’s a pure kandangi weave today in checks with a bold tribal motif recreated and embroidered differently on the sleeve. A deep “U” neck at the back tied up with our traditional tassles. The saree we draped is a pure handwoven kanchi cotton. We gave this ensemble a traditional look to suit our beautiful girl Aryamba. TRIBES AND CHECKS for a fresh start to a beautiful Sunday.

Ikkats need no introduction but this one does because of the colours in which it has been woven and fused. A tangy orange, a bright yellow and another shade of milder orange. We decided to revive our old “twin mango” motifs into this classy combination of yellow on orange and orange on yellow. The black outline brought them together like nothing else. FLAME AND PAISLEYS for a fiery start to the Thursday.
