Its our revival post again. The ever famous MUTKA SLEEVE in another combination this time. The base fabric is the ikkat from Andhra a neatly shaped mutka neck (a pot style) with a shaded pink Khun fabric for the sleeves and a matching thread woven border at the cuff. The embroidery in a geometric pattern in bright ruby pink hues. Its one of those moments where we turn to our revivals for solace and strength. The drape is a shaded pink kora coarse cotton saree. We create and work on @calm.

Checks and colourful ones that too in pure handwoven yardage is a part and parcel of most festivities down south. It’s a pure kandangi weave today in checks with a bold tribal motif recreated and embroidered differently on the sleeve. A deep “U” neck at the back tied up with our traditional tassles. The saree we draped is a pure handwoven kanchi cotton. We gave this ensemble a traditional look to suit our beautiful girl Aryamba. TRIBES AND CHECKS for a fresh start to a beautiful Sunday.

Black linen fabric is always a must in any designer's work studio. Every centimetre of black fabric will somehow find its place into most ensembles. This onyx black linen has been embroidered with an all over design in front with leaves and creepers using chilly red. A black with red embroidered blouse can be matched with most saree colours including the transparent silks from Maheswar for example. The back is cut deep in a leaf shaped drop using black and white striped kora. Another floral paisely motif on the sleeves in red. BLACK AND ONYX for a fiery Sunday.

The block printed fabric in light and dark Indigo from Bhuj is crisp and thick to feel. Processed with natural dyes its texture is soft and very versatile. Takes on any colour and makes it look as vibrant as ever. It’s a dark red and chilly red embroidery in a classic geometry patterned border with mirrors between each triangle shape throughout the front and back neckline. The sleeves are lined with mirrors and a hand blocked red and yellow border to match the embroidery. Floral tassles hand made in turmeric yellow and a bright orange gives this a versatile look and can be worn with most handloom sarees. INDIGO AND BLOCKS for a vibrant Monday.
